Terry Lowe

School Road Representative

Terry is the Teacher Representative for Bernhardt House of Violins. He demonstrates great joy and enthusiasm in supporting musicians, educators, and students through the promotion of strings and the arts.

Terry was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He studied piano with Carol White Bumgarner from age ten. While in high school he participated in the East Henderson Band, Chorus, and also a local touring choir The Sound of Singing Youth under the direction of Aubrey Edwards. Terry was selected to serve as Assistant Director with Mr. Edwards prior to his enlistment in the U. S. Navy.

Upon completion of his Naval service, Terry attended and earned degrees from Anderson University and Charleston Southern University. As a music major Terry’s emphasis was in vocal performance under the tutelage of Dr. Anita Bridges. While at Anderson he was honored with induction into the Denmark Society.

Terry has worked in various churches as a Director of Music and Arts for over 45 years serving as a worship leader, accompanist, and musician. He also has an extensive background in customer service having worked in retail, management, hospitality, and customer relations.

Terry and his wife reside “in the woods” outside of Greer along with their three girls, Mia the dachshund, Chloe the Terrier, and Anna the Chihuahua. They enjoy visiting antique stores, drives in the mountains, smooth jazz, and weekends boating on Lake Hartwell.
