Erin Spainhour

Marketing and Advertising Manager . Education Coordinator

Erin came into this world loving music and art. With a musician for a father and an artist for a mother, Erin was bound to be somewhat artistic. When she was very young, her Dad put an itty bitty violin in her hand, and she said: "This is not a viola!". Throughout grade school, Erin took private viola lessons from Angie Jones, and upon entering high school, she became a member of the Westside High School Orchestra under the direction of Kay Gilbert. She spent multiple summers attending Furman Music Camp, was a member of the Anderson Youth Orchestra, the Carolina Youth Symphony, and played in the education concert with the GAMAC Orchestra. Erin continued her private viola lessons while she attended Lander University, where she graduated with a BA in Visual Art.

Erin started her career with Bernhardt House of Violins 11 years ago when she moved to Greenville. Erin has held several rolls at Bernhardt, including, music librarian, graphic designer, teacher representative, and photographer. She is currently the Marketing and Advertising Manager and Education Coordinator. Helping teachers recruit new orchestra students and seeing their excitement is one of her favorite parts about working at Bernhardt.

When Erin is not at Bernhardt, she is listening to The Beatles, watching The Golden Girls, teaching art classes to 4-year-olds, is the PTO president of her child’s elementary school, or creating and selling greeting cards and hand-lettered posters. Erin lives in Pendleton with her husband, a teacher, and her two kids, Josephine and Maxwell.
